Supervised Parenting Time Program
The goal of the Supervised Parenting Time Program is to provide a safe, neutral environment for parenting time, while offering education, resources and support for the benefit of the entire family. Families utilizing the program are typically experiencing one or more of the following: domestic violence, child physical/sexual abuse, mental health issues, and substance abuse, re-acquanintance issues. Program services include: Supervised Parenting Time: This program offers the highest level of supervision. Parenting time sessions take place on HAVEN's premises and a staff person called a monitor is present throughout the entire session. The monitor's role is to supervise the interactions between the child (ren) and the visiting party, working to ensure the safety of the child, and intervening if necessary. Observations concerning the content of parenting time sessions are documented and routinely sent to the Court or referral source. Intermittent Supervised Parenting Time: This program is available for families requiring minimal supervision. Parenting time sessions occur on HAVEN's premises with a monitor being present during portions of the session. The monitor periodically enters the session room documenting observations and intervening if necessary. Supervised Exchange: During a supervised exchange a monitor transfers the child (ren) from one party to the other. Contact between the parties is eliminated thus, decreasing the potential for conflict to arise. The actual visitation occurs off of HAVEN's premises with the monitor supervising only the exchange and return of the child (ren). Supervised exchanges are performed on HAVEN's premises and police departments throughout Oakland County. Observations and interactions with all parties are documented and routinely sent to the Court or referral sources. There is a fee for service in this program and unless otherwise stated in the Court Order, the visiting party is responsible for all fees. Select another program from the list below:
