Aimee Nimeh, LMSW


Aimee Nimeh, LMSW, joined HAVEN as its new president and CEO on Oct. 15, 2018. Nimeh will be responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the full continuum of HAVEN’s services to more than 30,000 people impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence each year in Oakland County and surrounding areas.

She is a very experienced nonprofit executive who brings a lifelong passion, commitment and advocacy to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Prior to joining HAVEN, Nimeh was the executive director of Susan G. Komen Greater Detroit in Southfield, Mich. where she was responsible for transforming the Detroit Race for the Cure program into Susan G Komen Greater Detroit, a new, fully functioning affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.   Nimeh also served as a Project Director at the Michigan Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention and Treatment Board and is a faculty member at the Wayne State University School of Social Work.

Nimeh has dedicated her career to the care of others.  Prior to her role with Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer, Nimeh spent seven years at Common Ground in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., one of the most comprehensive crisis service and behavioral health agencies in the country.  She advanced through several positions at Common Ground, culminating with her role as vice president of programs and services.  Nimeh began her career at The University of Michigan Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center in Ann Arbor. 

A resident of Farmington Hills, Mich., Nimeh earned both her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  She also received an Arabic Language Certificate from the University of Jordan in Amman.

Emily Matuszczak LPC

Senior Director of Programs

Emily has a Bachelor of Science degree in human resources and a master’s degree in counseling from Oakland University. Emily entered the field of domestic violence and sexual assault after 12 years of managing both corporate and private practice optical offices.

Emily came to HAVEN in 1994 as an intern in the Counseling Program. She joined the HAVEN staff in 1995, providing therapeutic counseling to victims, batterers and children. Emily was promoted to Intervention in Battering Coordinator and then to Counseling Program Director in 2002. Emily was internally recruited in 2003 to the position of Director of Programs, assuming responsibility for all quality assurance issues related to direct service, including direct supervision of program directors. Emily is currently the Senior Director of Programs and is qualified to direct agency operations in the President/CEO’s absence. Her responsibilities include quality issues and initiatives, funding requirements, best utilization of staff and other resources, and outcome and evaluation procedures.

Emily lives with her dogs, Stanley and Marty and cats, Felix and Carmen. Her passions outside of HAVEN includes animal welfare and environmental protection and stewardship.

Blanca Q. Fauble

Director of Development

Blanca Q. Fauble is HAVEN's Director of Development.

Blanca's business experience is broad and deep and includes multiple leadership positions in the global auto industry (Ford and GM) and the retail and food service industries (Saks 5th Avenue and co-ownership of two restaurants Mountain Jacks and Carvers Steaks & Chops).

During her 8 years with Ford Motor Company, she held numerous leadership positions in customer service, marketing, philanthropy and multi-cultural operations. In 2002 she served as an Executive on loan to the United Way of SE MI and in 2004 The National Council of La Raza.

A native of Lima, Peru, Ms. Fauble is fluent in both English and Spanish and speaks conversational French. A graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, she also has completed advanced executive training at Darden University, The Center for Creative Leadership, the Disney Institute, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and Dale Carnegie.

A former chairperson of the Corporate Advisory Board for The National Society of Hispanic MBA’s, Fauble is also a founding member of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology. Her former board service includes:  Girl Scouts of SE Michigan, the Children’s Center in Detroit, Hispanic IT Executive Council. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum and INFORUM.

Fauble is a champion for women and children, and currently mentors a group of young women through Women of Tomorrow.

Brenda J. Moragne

Director of Human Resources

Brenda J. Moragne, HAVEN’S Human Resource Director has extensive experience having served in Human Resources executive positions at Altimetrik Corp., Home Instead Senior Care, Trinity Health, St. John Providence and Community Network Services (CNS).

Brenda implemented numerous HR systems and processes that significantly improved the efficiency of the recruiting function and the on-boarding process of newly hired employees.  She has managed HR functions for national and global organizations with multiple locations; where she developed and executed communication processes to ensure effective administration, flow of information and employee engagement.

Brenda has successfully trained executives, management and employees on HR policies and procedures.  She is proficient at researching, analyzing, and managing compliance of HR federal, state and local regulations.  She has developed and managed a variety of employee programs that were successful in improving employee engagement and retention.

Brenda’s experience extends beyond HR. She has directed the development of advertising and marketing campaigns for a myriad of local and national publications. Brenda was the owner and publisher of MOTION (an auto magazine for women) and Auto Industry Multicultural Network-AIMNET, (a diversity newsletter for the auto industry). 

She is the past president and vice president of the Detroit Association of University of Michigan Women and a member of the University of Michigan Alumnae Association.  Brenda Moragne is a native Detroiter and a graduate of the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

Philip D. Whitfield

Director of Business Operations

Philip D. Whitfield is a dynamic leader with 25+ years of progressive responsible financial management experience in the nonprofit sector.  He has excellent analytical, technical and auditing skills including proficiency in GAAP, GASB, and OMB regulations and standards. 

Philip brings to HAVEN a strong accounting knowledge, experience in Month & Year End Close, Financial Reporting, Risk Management, Audit Engagement and Resolution. He is committed to training and developing his staff and promoting overall agency team building.  Philip interacts with all levels of HAVEN’s organization, board of directors, agency leadership, employees, clients and supporting agencies. 

Philip earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Edinboro University, where he was also a standout football player.  He has spent his entire professional career in public service due to his passion and desire to affect the community in which he lives. 

Prior to joining HAVEN, Philip was the Vice President of Finance & Business Operations at Northeast Guidance Center, a Community Mental Health agency located on the eastside of Detroit.  There, he developed a culture of service and support for both internal and external consumers; realizing that you are not able to impact the community unless your workforce is properly trained & supported.  A goal driven advocate of policy and procedure, Philip is always looking for a more effective ways to make things happen while creating better processes.

Philip is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  He is also a Prince Hall Mason.  Through these organizations, he has been involved in several initiatives aimed at serving the community at large.  He is actively involved in mentoring young men, showing them alternatives to the environment they live in and helping them create a vision of possibilities for their future.

In his spare time, Philip likes to travel with his family and fellowship with his friends.  He resides in Detroit with his wife Crystal, stepson Eugene and dog Zeus.
