I Need Help

Stay safe. Learn how to keep yourself safe and get help if you need it.

If you are reading this page, more than likely you or someone you know needs help.
  • Maybe you have been with someone who has been abusing you.
  • Maybe you’ve just been raped.
  • Maybe you were attacked.
  • Maybe something happened awhile back that you are just now ready to think about.

Often when abuse and violence happens, it is harder for you if you are Deaf. Maybe your partner is hearing. Maybe your partner is Deaf. No matter how scared, hurt, angry or desperate you feel right now, you need to know that THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT. You didn’t ask for your husband, boyfriend, wife, girlfriend or partner to hit you, abuse you or rape you. You need to be safe:
  1. Get away from the person who attacked you.
  2. Find a safe place.
  3. Go to the nearest police station. Go to the hospital. Go to a friend or family member’s house.
  4. If you cannot leave your own house, ask a good friend to stay with you to help.

There are people here to help you. The sooner you can get that help, the sooner you will feel better and have control of your life again.

You’ve just taken the first step and asked for help. HAVEN is here to help you, comfort you and support you. We want you to live without violence in your life.
