HAVEN’s Mission: Empower survivors to heal and engage all individuals and communities to address and prevent sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

 

Prevention and Education are key to achieving our mission. This position is responsible for the management and ongoing development of prevention education programming for Oakland County schools, systems professionals, business’, or other entities not mentioned where appropriate. Responsibilities include recruitment and training of staff; development of curricula, media and other educational materials; ongoing review, evaluation and enhancement of program effectiveness. Provides consultation to schools and community partners on policy and program development related to domestic violence and sexual assault; presents educational and training programs to various community and professional audiences.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare and deliver presentations and trainings on domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual assault, dating violence, date rape, sexual harassment, elder abuse, and child abuse and HAVEN services to community groups, area schools, churches, and civic and professional groups and HAVEN staff
  • Schedule and implement family violence and sexual abuse prevention presentations in Oakland County Schools for preschool through college aged students
  • Develop and update educational materials alongside the development and marketing team as needed insuring all materials are inclusive of diversity and intersectionality and align with HAVEN brand
  • Ability to facilitate a variety of engagement activities 
  • Work to institutionalize prevention programs in Oakland County schools and youth service entities
  • Coordinate, train and provide feedback to volunteer speaker bureau participants
  • Work with the finance team on processing and tracking speaking/presentation fees
  • Invoicing for presentation fees
  • Supervise Prevention Education team including contingent staff and student interns
  • Maintain a program calendar of presentations and trainings for the organization
  • Develop and track outcomes of trainings and presentations through surveys or evaluations
  • Act as community information liaison for HAVEN
  • Prepare and submit reports for grants 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of Bachelors’ Degree in Human Services or Education preferred
  • Minimum three years' experience as a manager, director or facilitator leading an educational program
  • Demonstrated experience with curriculum design and development
  • Skilled at public speaking and ability to work with individuals of all socio-economic, racial, cultural, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds
  • Strong written, verbal and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
  • Travel throughout Oakland County and surrounding communities is required
  • Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license

Salary Description:  $54,000/ year
